Amarok Biotechnologies is an in vitro research and testing laboratory that supports healthcare, cosmetics and food companies in evaluating their products. Its scientific expertise was recognized, but its identity, inherited from the early years, no longer said anything about its rigour or its ambition.
Redesign the Amarok Biotechnologies brand for an identity that matches what the laboratory has become, and roll it out across its communication material.
We started by listening: the founders, the scientists and a few of the laboratory's clients. What emerged was a mix of methodological precision and closeness to clients, which the old identity did not express. The new brand platform puts these two qualities at the centre.
The visual identity was designed to hold up in the demanding contexts of a laboratory: analysis reports, congress posters, labels, website. A sober graphic system, colours that stay readable in print, clear typography.
Amarok Biotechnologies now presents an image consistent with its level of expertise, from the first contact to the analysis report. The team has guidelines and templates that let it produce its material without starting from scratch.
A testing laboratory is judged on its rigour, and that rigour must be visible even before a report is read. By starting from workshops rather than a trend board, Amarok Biotechnologies' identity expresses what the laboratory actually does, which makes it durable and easy for the team to apply.
